The Meaning of Life is Simply Having Meaning In Your Life

A colleague of mine posted this quote the other day and I had to share it here.

“The meaning of life is simply having meaning in your life.”

I don’t take this to mean some kind of Zen, Buddhist Monk type of thing.

If you find meaning in driving a Ferrari in the most materialistic way possible, go with it.

If you find meaning in living as a minimalist and only need the bare necessities to live, go with it.

As far as I’m concerned, the key to living a life that’s meaningful is to pay attention to it.

Make a conscious effort to soak in the things you like but also to pinpoint the things you don’t like.

That’s just as important.

That way our lives can be constant refinements which get us closer to what we consider “ideal.”

Life will never be ideal but if our entire lives are spent getting closer to what is ideal, that’s what it’s all about.
