When I thought of the sentence “the illusion of producing results” I was thinking of a particular industry.
You know the term “SEO?” It’s short for Search Engine Optimization.
Do you know how many companies out there tout their ability to help you rank well in Google?
It’s endless and it’s huge business. We’re talking hundreds of millions if not in the billions by now.
Do you know how many actually produce results? Very few if any.
If they had been able to produce these results themselves, don’t you think they’d have done it by now and not been trying to teach you how?
Which is to say there are plenty of industries, not just SEO, who will never deliver on their promises.
But guess what?
That’s not their responsibility. That’s right. It’s not their responsibility.
If you’re gullible enough to believe them and hand them over a check, that’s on you, not them.
I’m sorry but you need to hear this.
We all make mistakes. I get that.
At some point in our lives we’ve been sold a bill of goods and have been burned.
That includes me, big time.
But I own that. That’s on me. That’s not on the company that screwed me.
It’s upon us to not only do our best diligence on the people we work with, but we must also learn from those times we do get burned.
You know how the saying goes, “Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.”
