Stop Playing the Victim Card

I would say by far one of my least favorite things to hear is office gossip.  You know, watercooler talk where someone is gossiping about another employee in a way where they’re basically talking shit.  And to take it a step further, if I hear something like “I could do that if” it make me absolutely insane.  As my JV basketball coach used to say, and he said it a lot, “No Excuses, Get it Done.”  I don’t care if you’re black, white, purple, green, yellow or red.  I don’t care if you’re Catholic, Jewish, Gay, Transgender, or  Bisexual.  I don’t care if you can only walk on one leg.  I don’t care if you’re blind or even deaf.  Seriously.  There are no excuses for not getting something done in this world.   The only excuse is yourself.  Period.  By no means am I saying that if your skin is a certain color that you’re at a disadvantage in a certain situation.  By no means am I saying that your sexual orientation or disability can put you at a disadvantage in a given situation.  I’m not saying that at all.  But so what?  So what if it’s harder?  Then do what you have to do to make is LESS harder?  Honestly there’s no excuse out there.  None.  Get to work.
