Looking Ahead at Game of Thrones Season 8

I would love to excitedly be saying, ‘The final season of Game of Thrones is upon us!’ … but it isn’t. We are still a ways off and are not quite sure when exactly the 2019 release will occur. So we anxiously wait and ponder all that might happen in the lands of Westeros and Essos.  Winter has fallen upon the lands and a darkness has fallen most of the main characters. So where do they stand? ATTN: Spoiler Alert.

With a romance brewing, Jon Snow leads an expedition beyond the wall to find proof of the undead army so that Queen Cersei will join forces against the White Walkers. But the King of the North’s forces get overwhelmed and it looks like Snow will die for the second time.

But Jon Snow proves harder to kill than Steven Seagal in the 1980s. He survives thanks to an emotionally driven rescue by Dani and her dragons. But thanks to said rescue of Jon Snow beyond the wall, there is now a Zombie Ice Dragon running loose that broke The Wall, allowing the army of White Walkers to walk into the Seven Kingdoms.

Just when it seemed that the havoc-wreaking dragon would win the day, the Knight King launches a magic-laced spear and takes down Viserion the dragon. We’ll surely see a great fight in season 8, literally between fire and ice when the zombie Viserion faces its siblings.

The plot thickens as much of her forces were shattered by Euron Greyjoy and her various heroes and emissaries were captured or slain. All of the Sand girls have died. Two of which were hung from Euron’s masts.

Arya & Sansa Stark

Possibly the biggest death of the season came at the hands of the two Stark sisters in Winterfell. They finally caught the conniving Little Finger in subterfuge. Just when you thought his plots would break the two sisters apart, they execute him publicly and reinforce their sisterly bonds.

Though Jon Snow is the King of the North, Sansa Stark has become the bond that is holding the north together. And though there were moments of question where you wondered if she would take the north for herself, he loyalty to her brother has proved true—though he isn’t her brother at all, but the heir to the Seven Kingdoms, Aegon Targaryen. So, yes … there is more incest going on. Auntie Daenerys likes the cut of her nephew’s jib.

Arya still has a few people left on her list and it will be interesting to see how this unfolds. I’m especially interested in how it plays out with The Hound. As he is actually crossed off her list as she thinks that she left him to die. Arya was also morally confused about he actions regarding the Hound. So, when she learns that the Hound is still alive, will he go back on the list or not?

The Mountain is technically dead. But he is still running around doing Cersei’s bidding. Cersei is at the tippy-top of the list. Will she be able to do away with both of them?

Melisandre is still alive and so is Beric Dondarrion. Both of them made the list because of Gendry. Beric for selling Gendry to the Woman in Red. And Melisandre for taking Gendry.

IIyn Payne swung the sword that killed Ned Stark and he has yet to meet his fate. He is sort of a forgotten character so it will remain to be seen if Arya has time to dispatch of him.

Cersei and Jaime Lannister

Jaime has had about enough of his sister’s power-hungry attitude and has marched off to assist the army of the north fight the invading White Walkers. Cersei, ever the double-crosser agreed to the alliance of forces between the Lannisters and Targaryens but has plans to ambush the northern forces to eliminate her competition and face the invading white walkers on her own.

A Final Dead Pool

The Death Pool will start anew, hopefully early in the spring or late in the winter of 2019. And to help set up your last dead pool of the series, you can visit the best sportsbooks online to get odds on who’ll die next with updates coming for each and every episode. Remember, Vegas and online sportsbooks always have some insider info. So it’s wise to hop over to check the odds. It is an excellent indicator of who has the highest probability of dying and also they’ll update the odds of who will end up with their rear in the Iron Throne.
