I May Be Considered an Expert, But I Know Nothing

By all technical measures I might be considered an “expert” in my field. I’ve been in my respective field for 13 years. I’ve achieved a level of success that most likely haven’t. And it’s likely I have more knowledge than the majority of people out there in my field.

All that being said? Being called an “expert” makes me extremely uncomfortable. Why? Because if you ever think there’s nothing left to learn, you’re in the wrong business. I’ll never consider myself an expert, ever.
