If you have any kind of business or career that is established, you are going to have crap work.
If you have any kind of business or career that is just starting, you might even have more crap work.
Crap work is the stuff that is 100% a part of the business, stuff you have to do, but stuff that you not only can’t stand, but you likely put off.
Here’s my message when it comes to that kind of work: just do it.
No excuses, no putting it off, just friggin’ do it.
I’ve run into this issue time and time again with my clients and colleagues.
They’ve got like 20 tasks they know they have to complete and they just put it off more and more and more.
It’s like a laundry pile that just keeps building and you keep putting it off because the pile is more and more daunting.
Keep that pile to a minimum if not zero at all times.
Why? Because then you can focus on what you want to do.
And if you’re super lazy? Hire someone else to do it.
What if you can’t afford to hire someone else to do it?
Then get enough work where you have to do it yourself for a while and then you can eventually hire someone else to do it.
Do you see where I’m going here? There’s always an answer. There’s always a solution. There’s always a way.
You just have to commit to a way and stick with it until you want to change or have to change.
But back to my main point here. If you’ve got crap work, just get the damned crap work done and stop whining about it.
That is all.
