Classic Old Commercials Featuring Our Favorite Athletes

It’s gotta be the shoes! I really collected these videos not because they were so amazingly funny.  I’m not even sure how entertaining they were.  Well, yes, they were pretty entertaining.  But I was really amazed at how much times have changed. Even as late as 1992 it practically looks like these commercials were shot in the early 80’s.  I remember 1987 Topps baseball cards like they were yesterday. Time sure does fly.  And so do the careers of incredible athletes. Here’s a look at 10 classic commercials featuring elite athletes.

7 UP with Boxers Sugar Ray Leonard and Roberto Duran

Could Sugar Ray’s son look any more like him? Classic.

Michael Jordan and Spike Lee

It’s amazing how annoying Spike Lee’s been for all these years.

Walter Payton KFC Commercial

Anything with Walter Payton kind of rules.

Larry Bird and Magic Johson for Converse

Oddly enough it was the making of this commercial where these two legends actually became friends.

Natural Light Beer with Mickey Mantle

Guessing he used to drink this during ball games.

John Mcenroe Bic Shaver Ad

J Mac has become more polished over the years. He was brutal in this commercial. Classic though.

Moses Malone Nike Commercial

“I would hit….the boards.” If you ain’t got the ball, you can’t shoot the ball. What a tough guy!

Arnold Palmer and OJ For Hertz

I wonder if Arnold Palmer regrets making this commercial now. That or how much does he laugh when seeing it on Youtube?

Mike Tyson for Pepsi

Showing off his acting chops well before The Hangover.
