Many fans of Major League Baseball still don’t understand why certain songs come on when players step up to the plate. Let us clue you in. The players choose their intro music. It’s as simple as that. Well, not always. I remember when Kaz Matsui was on the Mets and they used to play Bruce Lee Enter the Dragon music. There’s just no way Kaz chose that.
But in a remarkable turn this week, eccentric Athletics player Josh Reddick decided he wanted something a little more mellow as he stepped up to the plate. George Michael and Andrew Ridgely must be smiling somewhere because Reddick surprisingly came out to Wham’s “Careless Whisper.”
Clearly this was one of the best moves in all of baseball this year. Enjoy this short vine.
