Even though it’s unhealthy sport, most of its competitors are healthy

Most competitive eating participants attempt to be as lean and fit as they can be. For example, Tim Janus, who came in third place at the 2013 Coney Island Hot Dog Eating Contest, is five feet and ten inches tall, weighs only 155 pounds, and has 7.5% body fat. For most of these people, competitive eating competitions are the only time they truly splurge and eat a ton of food.
