Competitive eating competitions have been incredibly popular in recent years. Whether they’re local contests at a hometown restaurant or the infamous hot dog challenge that is always featured on SportsCenter, these competitive eating competitions have become so ingrained into our culture that they’re impossible to ignore. However, like most odd fascinations that exist nowadays, people mainly marvel at these contests without knowing too much about what really goes into them or the people that participate in them. I know that, until doing this list, I barely knew anything about competitive eating competitions or the competitors that take part in them.
