Pearl Jam Plays “Let It Go” from Frozen at Concert in Italy

Big Day Out 2014 - Auckland

Here I am. I’ll say it. I’m a 22-year-old male who shamelessly, unabashedly, and whole-heartedly loves Disney’s Frozen. Like seriously loves its. Like I think it was the best movie of 2013. So when I saw this fantastic video of Pearl Jam playing “Let It Go” from Frozen at their concert in Italy, I knew I had to post here on Uncoached, because between Frozen, Pearl Jam, and Italy, that’s three fantastic things combined into one.

During their show at Milan’s Stadio San Siro on Friday, apparently feeling inspired by the words of Elsa and Idina Menzel (we’re not John Travolta – we get her name right here), Pearl Jam went into the chorus Of “Let It Go” while in the middle of their rendition of the Vs. song “Daughter.”

Pearl Jam now joins the countless people who have covered the hit Disney song since it won the Academy Award for Best Original Song back in March. Since its release in late November, Frozen, and by extension “Let It Go,” have turned into phenomenon that has spread across the whole world. Both the film and the song are incredibly more popular than any other Disney movie or original song that has come out in recent years, and it’s truly amazing how big of an impact Frozen has had on pop culture in just over the six months that it has existed.

Meanwhile, Pearl Jam was in Trieste, Italy on Sunday night and will keep going on their European tour through mid-July, before returning to America for the start of their U.S. tour in October. Watch the video of Pear Jam “letting go” below.
