Kid Returns Man’s Lost ID With the Greatest Note Ever Written

As I always say when I get the chance to write articles like these, stories like these make me love my job just a little bit more. A guy posted on Reddit yesterday about how he lost his driver’s license and that it had been recently returned to him. What makes this story something special though is the friendly note that came with the man’s returned ID from the kid who had found his license.

A clearer picture of the note can be found at the bottom of the page, but just in case, for people who maybe can’t make out what it’s saying for some reason, here’s an exact transcription of the note:

Dear Mr.,

I found your driver license on the street and so I thought that you will relly need it back. So I thought this would be the nice thing to do. And I hope that when you see something like this you will do the samething.

Reading or hearing about simple acts of kindness like this, whether it’s raising money so that your school’s janitor can go and visit his son and grandchild or leaving massive tips at restaurants because you hope it might make someone’s day better or inspire them to do something similar, always put a smile on my face and challenge me to be a better person. I know it’s cheesy and overly sentimental, but could you imagine if all people had this type of instinctual goodness about them? The world would be such a better place.

But, for now, I’m just happy that kids like Steven are out there, and I hope they never change.
