Brazilian Voodoo Priest to Curse Germany Before World Cup Match

World Cup Fans Gather To Watch Matches In Rio

Maybe the United State should have looked into this before their match against Belgium (although, let’s be honest, Tim Howard was probably just as good, if not better, than any type of magic). A Brazilian voodoo priest is planning to curse Germany before the two teams meet up in the World Cup Semi-Finals tomorrow, and if I’m Thomas Mueller, Manuel Neuer, or Mats Hummels, I would definitely be a little bit extra careful on the pitch during the match.

Even though Brazil will be missing their team’s undisputed best player in Neymar during the game, Helio Sillman, who is a black magic expert and fanatic from Rio de Janerio, has promised that he will curse Germany before the match starts.

“I’ll take their top player and bind his legs so he can’t run on the pitch,” said Sillman, talking about the voodoo doll of a Germany player that he would not reveal.

In his shop “World of Orixas” in the northern neighborhood of Madureira, Sillman carries out a ritual before each Selecao game.

The Brazilian voodoo expert performs the same ritual before each of Brazil’s matches. He puts inside lit candles of the opposing team’s colors and a voodoo doll of the team’s “most important player” in a small, soccer pitch-styled altar.

Sillman credits himself for stopping Colombia’s James Rodriguez from scoring in Brazil’s 2-1 victory over Colombia on Friday. He also says that he is responsible for helping Brazil defeat Cameroon, Chile, Croatia, and Mexico, as he made voodoo dolls of each of those team’s stars players.

“Those are the four teams that Brazil have overcome,” Sillman said.

I’m not a huge believer in magic, but when it comes to Brazilian voodoo, I’m not going to question it. Good luck to Germany tomorrow. It sounds like they just may need it.
