Lenny Dykstra

Although he’s more well-known now for his appearances in court rather than in the field, Lenny Dykstra was as tough a player as they come for both the Phillies and the Mets throughout his career. Dykstra was an integral part to helping the Mets win the World Series in 1986 and in helping the Phillies get there (only to lose to the Blue Jays…sigh) back in 1993. Furthermore, his hard-nosed personality and the selfless and daring way in which he played the game earned Dykstra the nickname of “Nails.” And hey, if your teammates think you’ve earned the nickname “Nails,” well then you deserve to make this list.
