I had a hard time deciding what category to put this under. On one hand, this song is incredibly amazing and definitely revs you up. On the other hand, it’s a song used to make a ton of fun of high school in the movie Billy Madison. Plus this video is absurd.
Then again though, it just pumps me up. I can’t deny it. The guitar riffs are unreal. What the hell is Billy Squier up to these days anyway? I actually think he’s still rockin’ out. I would love to party with this guy.
As I watched the Lakers/Celtics game last night it was a good thing I had the movie Bloodsport on channel 122 to turn to during commercials. What a great flick. In fact I’ve downloaded virtually the entire soundtrack from that movie. I don’t care how gay it sounds. If you’re telling me the song “Kumite” doesn’t pump you up then you are flat out lying. And just for good measure I’m sharing the original trailer to the movie.
It doesn’t get much better than these kinds of songs to pump you up. Remember this in the movie Friday Night Lights? This song was amazing. I’m pretty sure your bench press goes up by at least 50 lbs and you get really really angry when this song comes on. What a great tune.
I could have easily put this into the “Great Workout Songs” category, but how money would it be if you attended a wedding and at the reception when the bride and groom first walk out they play this song and an announcer comes out screaming their names?
There’s gotta be at least one couple in America willing to do this. By the way it’s very tough to watch this clip without getting goose bumps when Michael Jordan comes out.
Given my love of music and not just embarrassing but great songs, or even the ones that pump you up on the way to work, I decided to add yet another mix of tunes into the bag.
It’s my full belief that certain music when played at the right moment can easily add 650 pounds to your bench press.
My first choice? “Hearts on Fire” by John Cafferty. I assume every male reading this has seen Rocky IVand I assume every one of us absolutely loves this song.
P.S. The Rocky IV soundtrack was the warm up music at visiting team’s Plainview JFK gym when I played basketball in high school: incredible.
