It’s that time of year again.  People are buzzing about the Oscars.  I think I’ve expressed my utter distaste for this particular award show before but in case you aren’t aware of it I’m really not a fan of an event that simply showcases celebrities being proud of their own accomplishments.   It’s not that I’m against cinema or anything, I just don’t think we need this giant spectacle when these folks are already praised on a daily basis.

In any event, I sure as hell hope we see some drunken performances.  That would at least make the show tolerable.

Well, we’re two years in and the campaigning for the new presidency has already started.   No one knows for sure who will be representing the Republicans quite yet but it’s sure to be an interesting race.   While I’m not a huge political person there’s one thing that I truly believe about politics.

Most of these guys and gals don’t seem all that smart.  Most come from great families, have tons of connections and end up holding political office out of this upbringing and connection base.  WHile it would probably take tons of time to explain it, I think the main point I’m making is that most of these people don’t know much more about running the country than the rest of us.

Like a good CEO, it takes those around you to run a company and you’re job is to represent that company and drive its direction to its fullest potential.   So why couldn’t an actor do this?

Yes, it’s true.  Rumor or perhaps the truth has it that the cast of Jersey Shore is taking it to Europe:  Italy to be specific.  Marketing wise their pitching this as something where the member will be “visiting their roots.”  There’s a big difference between a guido and a person who is a literal Italian living in said country.

Something tells me the true Italians won’t take to this culture quite well and I’m hoping that’s the case.   I will definitely look forward to seeing that season but for now we must undertake the rest of season 3.

In the meantime I’ve come up with one prediction for each cast member for the Italy show….

I honestly don’t know how I feel about twins.  I have a couple of nieces who are fraternal twins.  I’m kind of glad they look nothing alike because I’m pretty sure that would freak me out.   I suppose if you are a twin it’s gotta be kind of cool to have someone out there who’s just like you.

Then again, I don’t know.  It’s definitely kind of creepy.  So when you see this in Hollywood it can be even creepier.

The amazing thing about cartoons is that the majority of them are high symbolic of the feelings and thoughts of adults.  Kids never realize this.  They just like all the pretty colors and zany characters.

However, if you watch them closely you can see tons of symbolism and if you dig deeper you might be able to see a foundation from which the cartoons were created.   For many shows I argue that drugs were a part of the creative process.

If you tell me drugs were part of the creation of these five cartoons then I think you’d be lying…..

This happened a few weeks ago and frankly I can’t believe the Family Feud still exists but Steve Harvey is hosting it?  I mean I get his humor.  He’s kind of a funny G-Rated animated kind of a guy and if the show is moving in that direction then I suppose Harvey is the right man for the job.

However, if you want to get back to the old days when the show was awesome then I think you need a host that has both the comedic potential and also the perverted ways that the previous hosts had.  It just brings an element that is more “today.”  We don’t need any ticky tack bullshit in today’s shows.

I fully admit that I enjoy watching The Jersey Shore.  It’s mindless entertainment of the purest sort.  The fact that these people are real is always a trip and the fact that I started doing “The Myspace Toolbox” back in 2008 and that I actually featured Pauly D is mind bending. For the record he used to go by the name “Hustler Italiano.”

It’s kind of like when you see pictures of celebrities going to the mall or shopping.  Some things just don’t look like they should be done.  In that same light I must bring up the topic of singing athletes.  Sure it looks funny as hell but some of these guys actually think they have good voices and that’s just not cool.

Then again when you know they’re completely acting like idiots for the sake of doing so, it’s OK.
