2. Bobby Petrino, Atlanta Falcons

If it weren’t for the guy sitting atop our list, Bobby Petrino’s hiring by the Atlanta Falcons back in 2007 could easily be looked at as the most miserable hire in NFL history. We’re not historians, but in our lifetime, with what we’ve seen, we’d have no regrets in saying that. Petrino in Atlanta wasn’t just bad, but the entire experience was just forgettable, with the Falcons going just 3-10, and then Petrino promptly and unexpectedly resigning to take the head position at the University of Arkansas—which didn’t work out too well for him either.
