5. Magic Johnson, L.A. Lakers

Just as the Lakers experienced with Mike Brown nearly 20 years later, the esteemed franchise had to deal with former superstar Magic Johnson leading the team on the bench. While one would think that Magic could transform and inspire the team into winners because he had such success as a player, he struggled mightily. Compiling just a 5-11 mark overall, he lost his last 10 games and abruptly called it quits after reaching 16 games, deciding it just wasn’t for him.
