Thinner competitors statistically do better than heavier ones 

Although the general opinion out there may be that the bigger a person is, the better of an eater he or she most likely is, the actual truth is that some of the most impressive competitive eating champions in the world weigh less than 150 pounds. Both Kobayashi and Rich LeFevre weigh in at 132 pounds, while Sonya Thomas only weighs 105 pounds. Honestly, that still amazes me.
