What Game of Thrones Would Be Like On an 80s VHS

80s Game of thrones

Anyone who’s read my writing here on Uncoached knows that I’m a huge Game of Thrones fan. It’s my favorite show on TV by far, and I love absolutely everything about it. What’s been great to see, as Game of Thrones has become more and more popular, are the spoof videos that people make of it on YouTube, and I think I may have just found the best way yet, one even better than the Game of Thrones/Brady Bunch mash-up. This is a video of what Game of Thrones would be like if it was on an 80s VHS tape, and as I’ve been saying, it’s pretty fantastic.

When you watch the video below, you’ll see for yourself how whoever created the video got every single little detail absolutely perfect. From the grainy, almost pixelating video quality to the electronic version of the theme song to even the font used for the opening credit sequence – every tiny part of the video is just so authentically 80s.

What I really wonder now is, after this video, what can people come up with next? Seriously, though. Between South Park‘s very inventive take on the show’s opening theme, to a recreation of some of the show’s biggest moments in 16-bit, RPG video game form, to even sitcomming the series a la Seinfeld, it seems to be that almost ever single Game of Thrones joke has been made.

And since I’m saying this now, I’m sure I’ll be proven wrong in about a week when a video comes out with recut scenes between Tyrion and Bronn, so that it makes their relationship look like it’s a love story from romantic comedy (or has that already been done?). Oh well. That’s just the internet for you.
