Lifetime to Air New Original Movie About Saved By the Bell

Saved By the Bell

When it comes to 90s high school sitcoms, I was always a Boy Meets World kind of guy before any other show. However, I know people (who are wrong) that loved and still love Saved By the Bell more. Conicidentally enough, just as the Boy Meets World spinoff, Girl Meets World, is about to hit the airwaves, we’re also now getting some more Saved By the Bell as well, although this might be in a way that not as many people will like. Lifetime is going to air a new original movie entitled “The Unauthorized Saved By the Bell Story,” based off of Dustin Diamond’s scandalous tell-all book, Behind the Bell.

The cast for the new television movie has already been established (as you can see from the photo above). Dylan Everett (Degrassi: The Next Generation) will play Mark Paul Gosselaar. Sam Kindseth (Shameless) is Dustin Diamond. Julian Wolk (Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones) will fill the role of Mario Lopez. Actress Alyssa Lynch will play Tiffani-Amber Thiessen. Tiera Skovbye (Supernatural) is Elizabeth Berkley. And finally, Taylor Russell McKenzie will portray Lark Voorhies.

“The Unathorized Saved By the Bell Story” is set to air later this year on September 1st at 9 pm on Lifetime, and if it’s anything like the majority of Lifetime’s original movies, it will look cheap, be filled with horribly cheesy and cliched dialogue, and feature some pretty terribly bland or over-the-top acting. In other words, I can’t wait to been channel surfing one day and find this movie, so I can put it on and laugh at all its ridiculousness.
