“Sometimes you will never know the value of something, until it becomes a memory.”
Similar to the previous quote, the message behind what Dr. Seuss is saying here is that too many people wait too long to give value or purpose or meaning to events or people in lives. We only truly cherish something when it’s gone, when it’s become a memory, a story or a joke that we continually tell, attempting to reclaim that special feeling that we didn’t fully appreciate when we first experienced it. The main point here is to cherish these special moments as they are happening and to make sure that we never forget their significance, what they taught us and gave us, as we move forward in our lives.
