This is a direct effect of everything that we mentioned in that last part, about the Thunder taking a step back now that All-Star point guard Russell Westbrook is back in the lineup.

While Kevin Durant is playing out of his mind right now, with his star compadre back beside him, KD will be possessing the ball less, and will have to work harder to be as efficient.

That’s where James comes into play, as he has openly admitted that he is pushed each night by what Durant does on the court. With the Heat trying to win its third-straight title, James will tighten the screws on things and elevate his game to an even higher level to not only potentially overtake the Pacers atop the East standings, but also earn his third-straight league MVP.
