2014 might only be six weeks old, but that doesn’t mean there hasn’t been a hell of a lot of stuff that has happened in the world of sports over that short time.

And while we still have 10.5 months left to see what else will occur, we’re already looking back and giving you the five most surprising moments from sports thus far.

Though still fresh in our minds, they may turn out being some of the most talked about news stories of the year—but we’re not trying to play Nostradamus or anything.

5. Two Undefeated Men’s Teams

Clemson v Syracuse

While it’s hard to imagine even one team staying undefeated all season long—the last was Indiana back in its 1976 national title season—as of press time, there were actually two that sit with a big donut in the loss column.

The Syracuse and Wichita State men’s hoops teams may have had some close calls in a few games this year, but they’ve prevailed in each and every one of them.

That’s something that should be mentioned seeing that the parity and depth in college basketball might just be at an all-time high, and the difficulty of conference foes usually puts to rest all unbeaten talk.

March will ultimately decide the fate of these two, but as of right now, it’s a bit surprising to see both without a loss.
