It’s Super Bowl week. So while that means that you’re probably getting stuffed with a bunch of different Super Bowl-type articles all week, we figured one more wouldn’t hurt.
And with some extremely random athletes having titles in their careers, we’re taking a look at some of the best players to ever play the game, and the ones who never even got a chance to play in the big game.
Some of these guys might be in the Hall of Fame, but, sadly, they’ll never be able to introduce themselves as a Super Bowl champ.
5. Eric Dickerson
Playing 11 NFL seasons and totaling over 13,000 career rushing yards may have gotten Eric Dickerson a spot in the Hall of Fame, but he never suited up on Super Bowl Sunday.
Only playing nine seasons because of the shelf-life of a runner in a bruising league, Dickerson also had the disadvantage of playing for a few teams that couldn’t pair him up with another star, winning just two playoff games between the L.A. Rams, Indianapolis Colts and Atlanta Falcons.
