4. Paul George vs. Kevin Durant
A major curveball here that couldn’t have even been taken seriously this time last year, it’s one that can absolutely be debated about now that the Pacers George has emerged as one of the top two-way players in the league—and a legit MVP candidate—and it’s not because the Pacers forward believes he can beat the Thunder star one-on-one.
That’s not to take anything away from the pure dominance and skills of Durant, who has won three scoring titles in his short, six-year career, and has tasted what an NBA Finals is actually like—something George can’t yet claim.
Though George really pushes this one to be a complete toss-up for us, we’re going with Durant off pure gut feeling.
