If you know anything about the NBA, it’s that it’s a stars league—meaning what drives fans to the TV and turnstiles are the big-name, headlining superstars—one of which is the Lakers’ Kobe Bryant.
And if you’ve listened to a single conversation about the NBA so far this season, it’s that people are anticipating the return of Kobe from his torn Achilles—it’s just, no one really knows when.
The Lakers only go as far as their star can take them—we all know that. But what if he never actually comes back this season?
Well guess what? We don’t think he will. And we’re giving you the reasons why right now.
6. His Team Sucks
Bluntly put, the Lakers should not be any good with Bryant.
Sure, people may want to believe that they have a slim chance of contending should they hang around the .500 mark until Kobe comes back, but that’s more a pipe dream and best-case scenario.
When Kobe realizes his team is worthless without him—which we’re pretty sure he already does—he’ll just sit back and not risk all these other reasons.
