As we’ve seen over the years, there have been some absolutely miserable contracts handed out to professional athletes.
And while we admit that some of these guys are pretty good and a key to their team’s success, others are a little less than great, leaving fans pissed off and hand-cuffing front offices with what they can do to improve the team around them.
But instead of focusing on guys who are making bank, we’ve decided to toss out five names of athletes who should be making plenty more than what they are, so come on GM’s, open the checkbook’s for these guys!
5. David Price, Rays
What He Gets Paid: $9.8 million
Now don’t get us wrong here, $9.8 million is a lot of money for someone to make annually. But when you put David Price’s numbers up against guys who have achieved much less, but make a ton more, it’s easy to see why the lefty makes this list.
As a former Cy Young winner and three-time All-Star, we imagine Price will be getting a bigger, long-term contract not too long from now.
