Back in our days of looking, one thing that always seemed to happen to us—and ultimately piss us off—was when an employer said all the right things about how impressed they were with us, or how we had an “it” factor, yet failed to offer us a job because we weren’t local.
It’s always a little awkward telling the hiring manager when they ask you to come in for an interview that you’re actually not in that city, making it pretty impossible to be taken seriously.
In all actuality, you’d probably drop everything and just move there if they guaranteed you a paycheck—but because you’re not there already, that’s probably not happening.
