Staying with some friends for the past couple weeks during our Northwest travels, one of our buddies wives, always wanted to try and watch some football with us (God bless her).
While we commend her attempt at “trying to be one of the guys,” it became quite obvious pretty fast that the chick didn’t know a damn thing about the sport.
Picking up on it, we continued testing her, finding amusement in the fact that she had no idea that Sebastian Janikowski was actually a kicker and not a quarterback.
It got us thinking about what else people pretend to know about football, which is what we’re giving you today.
Sorry, your cover’s blown now, bro.
With all the rules the NFL has installed regarding what can and can’t be reviewed these days, it’s pretty damn hard to keep up with this one, so don’t worry if you don’t understand it.
So the play was whistled dead by the ref, but it was a clear fumble by the running back that was recovered by the defense. Tossing a challenge flag isn’t OK in that situation, even if the replay booth shows it to be a turnover?
We get that there will be human error, but with so much technology available and every play examined by millions of eyeballs, let’s get this thing right rather than worry about what a few guys in suits have decided might slow the pace of the game.
