In case we didn’t convince you before about why you should be a soccer fan right now living in the U.S. a few weeks ago, maybe you should start reading the Internet to see exactly why you should be.
After America’s come-from-behind win over Bosnia last Wednesday in which Jozy Altidore netted three goals, and the conversation around national team teammate Clint Dempsey fleeing the EPL for MLS, we thought now’s the best time to rank the guys who will be repping our country at next year’s World Cup.
6. Brek Shea – Winger
It may be premature to put Shea above some of the other guys who have proven themselves in more appearances than the 23 year old, but the talent is obviously there, and we think he’s going to be a mainstay for the Americans.
Scoring the game-winning goal in this year’s Gold Cup final against Panama, Shea may be a solid substitute and spot starter right now, but if he keeps up what he’s been doing, it will be hard to keep him out of the top 11 for every game.
