5. Paul Kruger and Desmond Bryant – Signed with Browns

For Kruger, he just got paid $20 million guaranteed from a team within the same division as his former team.

There’s a number of factors that made this possible.

1) The Browns had money to spend.

2) Cleveland needed to land a top defensive guy to pressure the QB.

3) They probably overpaid by a couple million bucks to convince him to leave Baltimore, while leaving other teams at the altar for his services.

For Bryant, though talented, it’s pretty shocking he earns a five-year, $34 million deal just weeks after a criminal mischief arrest, so it’s high risk, high reward for the Brownies.
