As a sports fan, we hope each season ends with nothing less than a championship.
But the joy of rioting on the streets and talking crap to our friends about how great our team is can be harder than we’d like to admit.
We pour our heart, soul, money and yes, sometimes tears into supporting our squads, and thanks to that passion, there are some fantasies that take their expectations a little overboard.
Just don’t mention the word “rebuilding” to these fan bases.
The unfortunate reality of European soccer is that there are so many talented (and rich) clubs that will do anything they can to win a major title.
Liverpool is no doubt an esteemed club, but it’s current position in the EPL is varied, focusing more on younger signees to help propel the squad towards competing with the Manchester teams (United and City), along with Chelsea.
After 2012′s League Cup title, one would think Reds supporters will have even higher expectations—though few would imagine them actually fulfilling them.
