Well, it doesn’t look like the world’s going to end today—thank goodness—but that doesn’t mean it still isn’t a pretty cool date to remember.

With the calendar reading 12/12/12, not only are there going to be a hell of a lot of people who will try their luck at the $50 million powerball jackpot (with a lot of 12′s being selected), but there’s a lot of people trying to make a special moment out of this once-in-a-lifetime date.

Since we’ll never again see those numbers again on a calendar—well, unless you plan on living until the year 1312 that is—we figured we’d honor the number by giving you the 12 best athletes to wear the number.

If you’re a kid looking for a lucky number, you might want to go ahead and grab that 12, because by the looks of it, it does pretty well for itself.
