Go ahead and turn your TV on. See anything interesting you want to watch? Maybe, but there’s a good chance you say screw it and just stick to tuning into some live sports. Why? Simple: Reality TV.
These days, it’s nearly impossible to avoid getting caught up in some stupid reality show. From illegally making Moonshine to deciding on what girl to marry, reality TV’s taken over our airwaves and has replaced sitcoms as the go-to entertainment source.
So thanks to open auditions and casting calls, who says you need to waste time, money and energy studying acting, when you can just head down to one of those things?
Well guess what? We’ve actually done that; twice, so we’re here to tell you exactly why the process and outcome isn’t exactly what you think it’s going to be.
No one really wants to admit they’re ever actually applying to a reality show because, let’s face it, it’s not exactly the new career path your girlfriend meant when she told you to get your sh*t together.
But the idea of starring on TV and getting at least 15 minutes of fame is too impossible to turn down… just try to hide your excitement to avoid getting hassled by people.
