At times we live in a sick and cruel world where the level of compassion we humans show for each other is at a level of pathetic that I can’t even measure.  And yet somehow when tragedy occurs we then see amazing stories of courage and unity that remind us that being human is pretty awesome.

However, you’d be amazed at what the animal kingdom is capable of at a chain right below ours.   Animals show plenty of compassion for other animals.  We just don’t see it all that often because we love to watch animals kill each other on National Geographic.

Elephants Rescue a Drowning Baby Elephant

Elephants are known for their intelligence and compassion. Here is an amazing video of a herd of female elephants banding together to help a baby, which had become stuck in the mud.
