A while back I did a post on political quotes. I want to assure all of you that this is not a political site. However, after Memorial Day is when things start to heat up in the political circles. And you know that tensions are going to be high. There’s going to be tons of bickering. Plenty of finger pointing. And if I were to take a guess, flat out disgusting behavior. Should be pretty entertaining to say the least.
With that said, there’s also going to be a lot of dumb stuff coming out of people’s mouths. So I wanted to take a moment to reveal six political quotes in our history that I’m still baffled even exist.
Check them out after the jump….
“What a waste it is to lose one’s mind. Or not to have a mind is being very wasteful. How true that is.” —Dan Quayle
Mr. Quayle has had his fair share (to put it lightly) of political blunders. The man sure as hell knew how to speak at the wrong times and say the wrong things. And of all the dumb things he has in fact said, this quote is probably the most memorable. The funny thing is that you know he thought he was being intelligent here. Good try buddy!
“Well, I learned a lot….I went down to (Latin America) to find out from them and (learn) their views. You’d be surprised. They’re all individual countries.” —Ronald Reagan
Admit it. This is absolutely hilarious. Individual countries? Did he think they were cities? Did he think that Latin America was one big country? That’s pretty awesome of him.
“Too many good docs are getting out of the business. Too many OB-GYNs aren’t able to practice their love with women all across this country.” —George W. Bush
You didn’t think I’d leave out the king of stupidity did you? “Practice their love.” Priceless! Hell I could have just done an entire article of dumb quotes by this guy.
“It depends on what the meaning of the words ‘is’ is.” —Bill Clinton, during his 1998 grand jury testimony on the Monica Lewinsky affair
I’m pretty sure every single quote uttered from Bill Clinton during that affair would be considered dumb.
”When the President does it, that means it’s not illegal.” —Richard Nixon, in a 1977 interview with David Frost
That’s a pretty ballsy statement. Completely retarded, but ballsy.
”Outside of the killings, Washington has one of the lowest crime rates in the country.” – Marion Barry, former mayor of Washington, D.C.
Probably one of the dumbest quotes of all time. And I mean dumb, period, not just for a politician.
