Every kid goes to the ballpark wishing they could come back home with a souvenir.   And the reason so many kids bring their mitts to ballgames is because deep down they are hoping that a foul ball or home run lands right into their gloves.

Hell even adults with this to happen too.   When I was 11, my brother caught a liner foul that nearly broke his thumb.  In the process he saved some woman’s face from getting mauled.   Ever since that day I’ve always wanted to catch a foul ball but I never wanted that catch to fail or wind up being disastrous.
