As I’m sure many of you are aware, it’s currently Shark Week on the Discovery Channel.  So naturally those of you watching have more than likely been on more of an alert for the amazing fish.
Also, it gave me a great excuse to include an article about sharks despite the fact that my wife is deathly afraid of them. Sorry honey, I dig sharks.
Anyway, here are seven great sharks in movies….
Obviously Jaws is on here. He’s the first awesome shark in the history of pop culture and what really spawned the fear/fascination with sharks outside of those folks who study the fish in real life.
The Shark in The Perfect Storm
It’s only a brief scene but the fishermen think that they caught something big (they did).  Hoping it was a giant swordfish it winds up being a Shark and we see it attack Mark Wahlberg.  Pretty nasty scene but an awesome shark.
The Funny Looking Shark in Joe vs. The Volcano
I can’t believe there was actually a clip of this scene on the internet.  I mean this is completely absurd but you have to admit this shark is pretty damned cool simply because of how ridiculous fake it is.  Kind of looks like Sloth from The Goonies.
The Shark from Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus
It’s pretty hard to beat a shark called a MEGA shark. Don’t you think?
Megalodon from Shark Attack 3
Easily the most badass shark of all time.
Bruce the Shark in Finding Nemo
I’m not sure how kids watching this movie wouldn’t freak out.  Personally I think this shark is pretty scary.
The Exploding Shark from the Batman TV Movie
Batman gets bitten by a shark, which in real-life would have bitten off his leg (I mean he’s only wearing pajamas with this suit). As Adam West fights off a painfully rubber-looking shark, he asks Robin to send him down the “Shark Repellent Bat-Spray”, which at that point, using the word Bat is entirely unnecessary.
