Living up on land we humans fail to realize that more than half of the entire planet we live on is composed of a world that is beneath the surface. It’s hard to imagine that there’s way more down there than there is up here but it’s true.
It’s a shame we can’t really explore it to the depths that we’d like. However, we’ve certainly made some great strides over the years.

You know, I was ready to write this story up regardless, as it would allow me to post pictures like this of hot Hooters girls, but then it took a strange turn I wasn’t expecting.
Some eighth graders had quite a field trip — to Hooters. Students from Pennsylvania’s Berwick Middle School were visiting the National Aquarium in Baltimore last week. When the kids took a lunch break, about 15 to 20 ended up at Hooters. They were accompanied by chaperones. School district officials say they wish the kids had eaten somewhere else. But they add no parents have complained about the Hooters field trip. Hooters spokesman Mike McNeil notes the chain often hosts groups, including teens and younger kids.
NO PARENTS COMPLAINED? Whoa, who knew that there’s a segment of the population where all parents of a given class are actually COOL? Most places if a school even showed you a picture of a Hooters girl, someone would probably get fired, so this is nice to see.

In case you aren’t aware of the famous Polish-American singing and acting contingent may I present you all with Natalia Avelon. There’s just something extremely awesome about Natalia. She kind of has that mean foreign look that I love. You know, like Rhona Mitra or something.
It’s a look that screams “you couldn’t handle me if you tried.” Well I would try and I would try again with Ms. Avelon.

Ever since I got my iPad, I’ve been trying to figure out what exactly I’m supposed to use it for. Email? I have a laptop and iPhone. Games? I have a laptop and iPhone.
But what I do NOT have is a portable mousepad, so thanks to the brilliant man in this picture for revealing its use to me at last.

This is an incredibly bizarre experiment in video editing that yielded some rather unnerving results. Someone took every breath Palin made in a recent speech she gave and strung them all together in one video.
The result is most definitely creeping me out. I already am not her biggest fan, but this makes her seem even more empty headed than usual. It’s a metaphor, see?

With any medium that becomes a popular phenomenon, sex is almost always the first thing to follow. What happened when Myspace became huge? People started posting personal pictures of themselves all over the place.
What happened with Facebook? People posting pictures all over the place. And what’s happening with Twitter now? People posting pictures all over the place. Am I complaining? Not even remotely.

A couple of months ago I was lucky enough to go on a trip to New Orleans, the city I spent four years in during my college tenure. It was cool to go back as an adult, stay in a nice hotel (the Ritz, and the Lakers were there for the playoffs – yes I saw most of them), and experience the city in a more appreciative way than as a horny, drunk college kid who doesn’t care about culture.
But despite the whole “I love this city” thing there are obviously some basics that I covered. Clearly alcoholic beverages was one of them. I decided to list six drinks that I think everyone needs to have at least once if they make the trip to the Big Easy.
