When an engineer or designer has an idea for a car it takes a hell of a lot more than that to actually turn that idea into a production model.  The first steps are the drawings, then the prototypes, and so on and so on.

The cars you are about to see never made it to the point of being sold but they are a glimpse into the future.  They are concept cars.  So while you might not see them on the road today, you very well may in years to come.
