For the most part I’m a fan of the majority of technologies out there.   Usually folks create innovative and effective means of productivity and simplicity that make our society more functional and efficient.  It’s these types of technologies that I support.

However, when it comes to the “human condition” I think that technology has a ton of negative consequences.

The Portfolio

I’m pretty sure that in the history of my life I’ve never fallen asleep in a library before.   I’ve studied for finals.  I went to college.  I know what it’s like to be tired as hell.   But for the life of me I just don’t think I would ever find myself in a situation where I had no choice but to sleep in a library.

Perhaps I’m in the minority here because it appears that plenty of people like to get some Z’s in the library.

Consumer-centered company that it is, Apple is introducing new screws into their already hard to open iPhone to replace the old ones. This ensures you can never try to fix things yourself, and must buy Apple Care and make them do it for you.

What if you already have Apple care? What happens when you send it in? That’s when they’re replacing the screws. If you send it in, it will come back with the new pattern of screw you see above. Good luck with that.

This is to make it impossible to open the iPhone and tinker around inside it. Granted, most people have no real reason to ever do this, but a key part of ownership of something is having the ability to do what you want to it. By changing something you own in such a way after you’ve bought it, Apple is removing your ability to fully use your product.

Thanks Apple, you truly are an innovative leader constantly thinking of new ways to piss people off.

For those of you who are not familiar with Natassia Malthe here’s a quick lesson. She grew up in Scotland, Norway, and Canada.  She also grew up dancing in schools such as the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, and the Norwegian Opera house and the Goh ballet academy.

She  used to perform with the state Norwegian opera school, where she sang and danced with the opera students between dancing with the Norwegian opera house and finishing up her high school studies.

Come on Japan, this is just getting ridiculous. You can’t even make a package of chips now without it being completely WTF? I mean, what exactly is going on here?

My best guess is this is some sort of flavor mash-up, and one bodysuit represents cheese and the other, I don’t know, mustard, or something like that. The groin pulling is how the two come together in glorious flavor unison.

I was expecting a lot when I read the title of this video, as I’ve made a few crazy shots in my day during some drunken minigolf games.

Needless to say, I wasn’t disappointed. This is pretty nuts, as I’m sure there’s only a handful of courses in the world where a shot like this would even be possible. Check it out above.

Perhaps one of the most exciting and up and coming teams in the NBA is the Oklahoma City Thunder.   Now I don’t really think they’re going to contend quite yet but give them one more player to compliment Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant and you might have championship caliber on your hands.

Oh they’ll do some damage and you can always count on some highlights.  They’re just not elite quite yet.  You know what’s elite though?  Their cheerleaders.  It’s pretty tough to argue against that.
