Six Memorable Idiotic Political Quotes

Published by at 7:20 am under Politics

Don’t worry folks.  I’m not turning this site into a political site by any means.  It’s just that at this particular time America is going nuts over the prospect of the new election which doesn’t even take place for two more years.

It’s really unbelievable.  I mean how often do we make such a big deal of stuff that happens years from now?  In any event I thought it’d be a nice time to make light of some classic political blunders of the past.

Here are six quotes that are sure to give you a chuckle….

“What a waste it is to lose one’s mind. Or not to have a mind is being very wasteful. How true that is.” —Dan Quayle

Mr. Quayle has had his fair share (to put it lightly) of political blunders.  The man sure as hell knew how to speak at the wrong times and say the wrong things.  And of all the dumb things he has in fact said, this quote is probably the most memorable.   The funny thing is that you know he thought he was being intelligent here.

“Well, I learned a lot….I went down to (Latin America) to find out from them and (learn) their views. You’d be surprised. They’re all individual countries.” —Ronald Reagan

Admit it.  This is absolutely hilarious.

“Too many good docs are getting out of the business. Too many OB-GYNs aren’t able to practice their love with women all across this country.” —George W. Bush

You didn’t think I’d leave out the king of stupidity did you?  “Practice their love.”  Priceless!

“It depends on what the meaning of the words ‘is’ is.” —Bill Clinton, during his 1998 grand jury testimony on the Monica Lewinsky affair

I’m pretty sure every single quote uttered from Bill Clinton during that affair would be considered dumb.

”When the President does it, that means it’s not illegal.” —Richard Nixon, in a 1977 interview with David Frost

That’s a pretty ballsy statement.  Completely retarded, but ballsy.

”Outside of the killings, Washington has one of the lowest crime rates in the country.” – Marion Barry, former mayor of Washington, D.C.

Probably one of the dumbest quotes of all time.  And I mean dumb, period, not just for a politician.
