First of all I’d like to congratulate Tyson on his hall of fame induction a month ago. Second of all I want to share a true story. I was 8 years old in Manhattan with my family. We went into Gucci just for the hell of it to see all the fancy jewelry. Who walks in? Mike Tyson. Dude was wearing all black leather and goes up to the counter.
Starts laying out 100 dollar bills like it was nobody’s business. My brother went up to him and shook his hand. He actually put his hands on my shoulders and said “What’s up champ?” That’s my fondest memory of the guy.
Anyway, I still love Tyson despite his lunacy. Here are five great moments in Mike Tyson….
An Insane Training Video
It’s amazing to think how much of an animal this guy was/is. I still think while he was in his prime he was the best heavyweight ever. People always laugh when I say this but I still think it’s true.
Tyson’s Best Knockouts
These are pretty damned scary.
Tyson and Ali on Arsenio
I had no idea this ever even existed. What’s amazing is that Tyson is wearing white slippers. This guy was unreal. Minute 3:22 is the question you’re all looking for.
Mike Tyson on The View
“Shanghaied.” Yup. Whatever that means.
The Buster Douglas Knockout
I was 11 years old when this happened and I still remember almost crying. When I think about it now and how crazy Tyson is I kind of laugh but man did I look up to him and it felt horrible to see him go down.
The Eat Your Children and many many other Quotes
Wow. Just wow.
