5 Cartoons Whose Creators Must Have Been on Drugs

Published by at 7:20 am under Editorial,Entertainment,Television

The amazing thing about cartoons is that the majority of them are high symbolic of the feelings and thoughts of adults.  Kids never realize this.  They just like all the pretty colors and zany characters.

However, if you watch them closely you can see tons of symbolism and if you dig deeper you might be able to see a foundation from which the cartoons were created.   For many shows I argue that drugs were a part of the creative process.

If you tell me drugs were part of the creation of these five cartoons then I think you’d be lying…..

Anyone on Aqua Teen Hunger Force

Have any of you seen this show?  Let’s see here.  You’ve got a living french fry box (with fries in it), a milk shake, and a hunk of meat.   All three characters hover in the air.  All three characters talk.  One of the characters is extremely smart.  One sounds like gizmo from the Gremlins.  You’re telling me this isn’t the product of a lot of weed and/or mushrooms?  Yeah right.   There’s no other explanation.  I refuse to believe a sober person created these characters.

Spongebob Squarepants

Let’s see.  A homoerotic living sponge that has phallic symbols up the yin yang.    First of all, how kids aren’t screaming in fear every time this guy comes on the air is beyond me.  Second of all, it’s a living sponge!  What the hell?  There’s one of two things going on here.  It’s either sober gay guy with an eccentric mind or a gay guy who was on drugs that needed a character to express himself.  I’m going with the latter.  I would say the drug was probably alcohol but there’s a chance cocaine was involved.  Have you see how much energy Spongebob has?

Ren and Stimpy

It’s not so much the characters personalities where drugs were involved.  In fact I argue those creations are in fact very sober.  But I will say the animation is definitely something that drugs could have assisted with.  I mean Ren is one weird looking dog.

Beavis and Butthead

There’s no other pure example of weed than the creation of Beavis and Butthead.  Talk about your classic stoner cartoon.  Mike Judge definitely took a few bingers while coming up with this concept.

Well, we all know the Japanese are a weird crew so I’m gonna go with Crystal Meth here.   Then again, anime itself is a one wacky genre so who the hell knows?  I just refuse to believe Pokemon was concocted while sober.

only one of the characters in Aqua Teen Hunger Force float and that is the french fry box, the meat ball sort of rolls and the milk shake crunches up the bottom of the cup to walk
