Just so you guys know it’s a Saturday morning right now and I’ve post dated this article to show up during the week so you might end up trying the wake up early thing this weekend. I was a young man once. I partied. I slept in. And I partied the next day. I know the drill. But if you’re in the real world and that stuff slows down, what is the point of sleeping until 11, 12, even 1PM on a weekend? Honestly there really isn’t any.
Now I’m not saying you have to wake up at 6am every weekend. Far from it. But if you’re used to waking up really early during the week, then getting up at 9am or even 8:30 isn’t out of the question on a Saturday and Sunday. And believe me, there are lots of benefits to it.
Here are four worth mentioning…..
This one especially rings true for family men. If you have kids and you beat them to the punch on waking up it’s like the only time you have all week to be alone. Also, if you’re married and don’t have kids? It’s nice to have a few hours to yourself while the wife is still asleep.
Productivity is So Much Higher
The earlier it is on a weekend the better off you are to get those annoying errands done. Me personally? I do shit at random times during the week when I know stores aren’t crowded. But if you’re one of those people who does stuff on weekends then the 8am-11am block of time is by far your best bet. No waiting on lines or any of that bullshit.
Less Pressure Working
If you happen to have a job that requires you to work “outside of work” then you’ll appreciate this one. Weekends are the best time to get ahead on anything simply because you don’t have to technically work. So when you do there’s zero pressure and you might find you enjoy it more. And honestly sometimes the quality of the work improves. But again, if you’re doing this shit at like 3PM it kind of messes with your day.
Getting it Out of the Way
Nothing’s better than getting all your crappy shit out of the way before noon. A. You feel like you got something accomplished and B. You have the rest of the day to sit on your ass.
