Sometimes we just get into these moods where we don’t feel like talking to anyone. It’s called depression and it doesn’t necessarily mean we need to take a pill. It doesn’t mean we’re going to kill ourselves. It just means that maybe there are times it’s nice to be alone and to wallow in your sorrow. It happens.
Usually at these times it’s good to listen to music. But clearly you don’t want to hear anything upbeat. When I get depressed I usually turn on songs that make me think about stuff.
Here are 5 worth noting…..
Fade into You – Mazzy Star
For some reason this song makes me think of middle school. I don’t know why but God if it isn’t one of the most depressing tunes I’ve ever heard. Still though, it’s got kind of an addicting vibe to it.
Yesterday – The Beatles
I always think of times when I was little hearing this song. Little did I know it was about a break up but whatever.
Homesick – The Cure
Every time I hear this song I think of my first week of college when I didn’t know what the hell was going on, what to expect, and if my roommate was a psycho or not. I was the best man at his wedding.
Perfect Day – Lou Reed
It’s hard not to think of drugs and the movie Trainspotting when you hear this.
