Lying is generally a bad thing.  Telling someone something that isn’t true is clearly a form of manipulation and usually leads to something bad if the party you lied to finds out you are lying.  However, lying isn’t bad in certain circumstances.  Those circumstances usually involve an issue where the person you are lying to is better of for not knowing something.

This is most true with children.  If it weren’t for lying then children would be pretty screwed up.  I mean can you imagine if all children went through childhood without being lied to?  They’d be the most miserable creatures on earth.

So when you have to lie to kids, don’t feel bad about it.  Especially in these five situations….

You would think that a kid locked up in juvie might not be the most trustworthy person on the planet, but that’s not what officials in an English prison thought about two young lads. I know it’s nice to want to believe in the youth of the nation, but trust me, they’re all little shits.

TWO teenage convicts pedalled to freedom after they were let out of jail for the day to take a cycling test.

Connor Dewhurst, 14, and Sam Thomas, 13, were allowed to sit their cycling proficiency test – an exam British children must take to prove they can safely ride bicycles on the road.

However, the pair proved rather more proficient than supervisors were expecting as they sped away from a juvenile detention centre in Manchester in northwestern England.

Cops think they pedalled 11km to one of the city’s major train stations before hopping on a tram to complete yesterday’s escape bid.

They are still on the run.

I feel like there’s probably going to be a Danny Boyle movie made about this story at some point, as it involves English people and quick movement. I for one hope they get away and pedal to Costa Rica and live the rest of their lives telling this story.
