As I embark on what will clearly be the biggest move of my life it’s time to start thinking about how I plan on designing my bedroom.  I mean hell I have like eight other rooms to worry about in this house I am purchasing, but the bedroom is where one really wants to feel at home.

It’s the room where you read your books, watch TV, occasionally have sex with your spouse and generally lay out when you come back from a big trip.  It’s an important room to say the least.  Afterall, over 1/3 of your life is spent on a bed.  The least you could do is take decorating that bedroom seriously.

This is the story of one man defending his land in a way we haven’t seen since William Wallace stuck his sword in a bunch of English dudes. It’s a pretty crazy story, but one that’s inspiring in a way.

Yan Youde was a poor farmer in China who wanted nothing more than to tend to his land, and not get boned by the other people. Well, when evictors came to his house to throw him out, he decided to fight it in the best way he knew how. With rockets.

He had fended off two eviction attempts with his improvised weapon, which uses ammunition made from locally sold fireworks.

“I shot only over their heads to frighten them,” he told the China Daily of his attacks on demolition workers sent to move him off his land. “I didn’t want to cause any injuries.”

The rockets, which can travel over 100 yards, exploded with a deafening bang, the official paper added. It did not say if anyone had been injured.

The government is trying to steamroll his land and put up office buildings there, but Youde says the price they’re offering him is 5x less than it should be. But when push came to shove, he stood his ground, and shot a bunch of artillery up their asses when they tried to kick him out.

Bra-vo Youde, standing up for poor, crazy angry people everywhere.

From the mountains of Colombia we get Catalina Otalvaro.   Is she really from the mountain region in Colombia?  I have no idea.  Is there even a “region” where people live in the mountains in Colombia?  You could have fooled me.  I just like to dream that a girl like this grew up in a cave or something and is now posing in bikinis.

When she’s not posing for cameras she’s busy looking like Adriana Lima.  That’s two Lima look a likes I’ve had in the past few weeks.   How about that?  That’s all I got.

The story behind this picture (wow, I usually never know these), is that this guy was trying to sell his motorcycle on Craigslist to no avail. He tried everything, all different angles and descriptions, but no bites.

Well, that changed when he subbed in this picture, which shows the owner thoroughly enjoying his ride. Don’t you want to be having this much fun on that bike too? Well you can, for the low low price of $8K.

Needless to say, the thing sold pretty quick.

This rather hilarious video from Slate examines just what it would take to get Americans to actually pay attention to soccer, using the American stat-and-nonsense heavy style of reporting we’re now used to.

How many chest traps does Landon Donovan have? What is Turkey drinking in their water bottles?  I laughed out loud when the Nissan Danger Kick came up near the end there.

It would appear that Russia takes their cheerleading quite seriously.  Back in April over 60 teams gathered together in one lucky spot in Moscow to compete in the Cheerleading Championships.   And by lucky spot I meant if you were fortunate enough to be in attendance.

As expected in a foreign cheerleader showdown there were plenty of cute outfits, a ton of flexibility by hot females and a burning desire that you just can’t put into words.  That burning desire is on my end by the way.

Seriously though, it’s always a pleasure to see teams compete so fiercely and put their bodies out there so we can have mental imagery in bathroom sessions for weeks to come.

Sports teach us a lot about life.  They teach us about competition, fair play, achievement, failure, triumph, and a willingness to survive.   Every emotion imaginable comes out in sport.  Your biggest fears are addressed in sport and at the same time your biggest joys can come out as well.

And as much as sport teaches about life itself it also brings out another great facet of humanity:  sex.  Whether you’re attracted to an athlete or the sweat just makes you a hornball, sports is one of the great sexual settings known to man.  From the exertion of a female to the downright wrestling stance on the mat, sex is everywhere in sports.

So even yet another thing sports teaches us?  Sex.  But who would have thought it would teach us about actual sexual positions?  Well, it sure does (as these photos will prove)…..
