My favorite argument that the porn stars made was that free porn delivers an inferior product and by “stealing” porn it could go away forever.
So . . . if there were no porn stars we would increase the demand for amateur porn. That sounds good.
We are “stealing” their product? They have sex for money but that’s no illegal as prostitution is. I believe they argue it has artistic merit. So if one had sex with a prostitute to record it for art, is prostitution legal?
Actually mate, prostitution IS legal is most civilized countries.
Additionally, no one is arguing that porn is high-cinema or anything of the sort. However, it is a multi-billion dollar industry and those who produce it have just as much right to oppose piracy of their product as Hollywood film makers do.
Don’t get me wrong, i’ll still visit the free streaming sites as much as the next bloke – but don’t think that pirating porn is somehow okay simply because it’s a morally ambiguous product.
